Our Mission:
Supporting Yolo County Transition Age Youth
Our nonprofit provides underserved transition age youth (generally between ages 18 and 24) in Yolo County who are transitioning into independent living situations with furniture, household goods, bicycles and resources to furnish their first home. The youth we serve come from foster care, the juvenile justice system or unstable living situations. We also offer support & advocacy to this Yolo County cohort.

Make It Happen for Yolo County appreciates the generous furniture donations from the Yolo County community. If you have furniture to donate, we will happily consider your items. Our greatest need is for the following small items: dressers, kitchen tables and chairs, loveseats or sofas, end tables and nightstands, in good condition. To donate, please click on the orange “Donate Furniture” bubble at the top right of this page.
Thank you!!!

About Us
In 2025 we begin our eleventh year of being a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. With the exception of a part-time paid Executive Director we continue to be all volunteer. Our first year we helped 12 youth. Our goal for 2025 is to provide 65 youth with everything from furniture to shower curtains and appliances to mattresses and bicycles. From college students to single parents to formerly homeless youth, we help every one of our eligible referrals create a home.

Our Impact
250+
Youth helped since 2014
We started with 12 foster youth in 2014. Since then we have expanded to assist other under resourced Yolo County transition age youth. We have increased our programs to include bicycles, support for the Yolo County Independent Living Program and advocacy for this population.
65
Our goal for 2025
We expect to serve 65 youth in 2025. Our referrals come from UC Davis Guardian Scholars, Shores of Hope, Yolo County Child Welfare Services, Yolo County Probation, Yolo County CASA, and others.
4.8/5
Client satisfaction
We routinely survey the youth we serve on our performance, communication and the items they receive. We are so pleased that the vast majority of responses were 5/5.
